Being creative is about experimenting until you find something you enjoy, something you love - and then you keep doing it. Through this process you will discover something about yourself, something you never knew.
So many of the people I meet tell me they have always wanted to try painting or to learn to draw. This is the year to put those wishes into action, and take that step to a more creative lifestyle. Our unique little school house offers the ability to learn in a one on one environment, with people who want to learn something just for themselves, just like you. There is so much to learn. Take a beginner watercolour class or learn to make wire wrapped jewelry. Come spend the day in our quaint lake side town doing something that is all about you!
It's time to engage your creative side. Nurture it, and let it grow. It will help you come fully alive. What are you waiting for? Classes start in May, so let your creative juices start to flow.

Art School Director
With the guidance of an advisory board consisting of Canadian legends A.Y. Jackson, Alex Coville, Lawren P. Harris and Arthur Lismer, The Southampton Summer School of Fine Art (now the Southampton Art School), was the realized dream of a talented and ambitious young man and Owen Sound native named Bert Henderson in 1957?
Thank you to everyone who so kindly donated to our founder Bert Henderson's Exhibition. It is so amazing that you all wanted to be part of what has made our organization a great success after 60 years. The seed was planted by our founder, and we strive continue to bring his vision further each year.
You can still be part of the plans for 2017.
A small donation, in your name, can be made here.
Thank you for being a part of the Southampton Arts Centre's vision.
